Key theological issues of the church and society that are reflected in the ministry of the congregation/organization:

WE BELIEVE…
God, whose being is expressed in many and varied images, created the universe and everything in it,
God’s creation is good… we sometimes fail to care for it… so

IN OUR MINISTRY…
We work to care for the creation… in how we live our life together… earth flag at our entrance,
We wrestle with how to be wise stewards managing resources entrusted to our care…our endowment,
our facilities, our time and energy… we endeavor to discern what is urgent and important.

WE BELIEVE…
God’s remarkable grace sent us Jesus Christ, who calls us to feed the hungry and care for the poor and friendless,
In the end we know we all are in need… so

IN OUR MINISTRY…
We work to address human need locally and globally, in a variety of ways… primarily project-oriented and hands-on,
We participate in all of the PCUSA’s Special Offerings,

WE BELIEVE…
The Holy Spirit dances in our lives and the life of the church,
Diversity is a cause for celebration… God’s truth is revealed in the Spirit’s moving through each and all of us,
with our varied perspectives and differences,
At First United we can be open to new possibilities for the Spirit to work in and through us… so

IN OUR MINISTRY…
We work for peace and justice… striving always to be a safe place to share our authentic selves… advocating for ordination equality in the PCUSA,
and marriage equality both in the PCUSA and in civil society.

We pray for God’s blessing as we share “a deep life of worship, prayer, fellowship, and service.”  F-1.0302d
