What is the congregation’s or organization’s vision for ministry? Additionally describe how this vision is lived out.
The Boise Presbytery seeks to create a collaborative sense of community mission and vitality in our partnerships, our churches, and our validated ministries. We have a robust effort to support mission grants in our member churches, supporting them in community efforts. We seek to make quarterly Presbytery meetings a time of engagement and sharing in the ministries happening throughout SW Idaho and seek to be partners in the challenges of revitalizing church life in the 21st century.

How do you feel called to reach out to address the emerging needs of your community or constituency?
The Boise Presbytery has created times of engagement in our meetings to connect with the work of validated ministries and our churches – increasing the collaborative work of our shared mission. We are seeking new partnerships beyond traditional denominational lines to promote new ways of doing ministries in places where long standing congregational ministry is struggling. We are also looking at the future of our Presbytery in light of our size and the sense of scarcity that is pervasive in many of our churches.

How will this position help you to reach your vision and mission goals?
This position will fulfill constitutional roles of the Stated Clerk while leading us in vision and strategy to develop a new sense of our shared life together as a Presbytery with either deeper connection to neighboring Presbyteries or through a merger of two or three Presbyteries into a larger denominational body.
