1. What is the congregation’s or organization’s vision for ministry? Additionally describe how this vision is lived out.
“We love the Lord through worship, study, service and prayer. We live our vision by loving one another, sharing the Word, growing together in faith, and serving those in need. We embrace God as our Creator and Savior. Christ alone is our only salvation. We want the love of God reflected in our lives for others to see. We believe in prayer and seek God’s will. We take pride in our Church, welcoming all to Sunday morning services as we come together for corporate worship, fellowship, prayer and praise.”
|
2. How do you feel called to reach out to address the emerging needs of your community or constituency?
“We reach out through visitation, prayer, funeral lunches, donations to the local food pantry, and help to families in the community who are in need, and by bringing communion to shut-ins and worship/communion to area nursing homes. We also hold many ecumenical worship and music events. We have been long supporters of Camp Paddy Run, a local Presbyterian-related Christian camp, providing meals and support for campers and staff. We support the Shenandoah Pregnancy Center and create and send Christmas boxes internationally through Operation Christmas Child.”
