The mission of the Newport Presbyterian Church is to minister to the needs of the community by following the teachings of Jesus through the truth of the Bible.

What is the congregation’s or organization’s vision for ministry? Additionally describe how this vision is lived out.
Our vision is to be an intergenerational, inclusive, fellowship focused on growing, teaching, and nurturing.
This is lived out via sermons delivered live and on the radio by a preacher who knows and promotes the scriptures as the inerrant word of God.  Connecting with local organizations and people with specific needs, then taking a hands on approach to fill these needs and exemplify the love of Christ.

How do you feel called to reach out to address the emerging needs of your community or constituency?
Currently, we use a radio program on New Life Radio (90.7 FM) to disseminate scriptural truth to a 5 state area via live radio and to the world via their internet broadcast.  We also have worked with Sunset Gap community Center to help supply their food pantry and facilitate their programs for the needy.  We have worked with Wellington Place assisted living to encourage and entertain their residents.  We have worked with Grandfather Home orphanage by funding their efforts and supplying specific physical needs.  We have worked with the Newport Senor Center to provide Thanksgiving dinners to elderly shut-ins. We give generously to the missions of the Presbytery.  We deliver cards and food to the sick and bereaved as needed.

How will this position help you to reach your vision and mission goals?
Our Pastor will be expected to provide leadership and encouragement: to help built enthusiasm among the church membership to join in and be the hands and voice of Jesus in our community.
