What is the congregation’s or organization’s vision for ministry? Additionally describe how this vision is lived out.
Steele Creek Presbyterian Church at Pleasant Hill (SCPC@PH) seeks to be a welcoming Christian family that reaches out to the community in multifaceted ways. We seek to be active and engaged in our area by sharing the Word and the Good News of Jesus Christ. We seek to give people a Christ-centered place to call home filled with love and support. SCPC@PH is located in the middle of the rapidly growing Steele Creek and Lake Wylie area of Charlotte, NC. Our vision is to reach these communities by providing active enrichment programs, Bible studies and activities for all age groups. Several times a year, in cooperation with the four sister churches in Steele Creek, we worship together as a corporate congregation. These active and engaging programs are essential for enriching the spiritual welfare of our congregation.
SCPC@PH is the outcome of a merger between Steele Creek Presbyterian Church and Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church in 2019. Both churches had a long, deep and rich history both together and independently. Now that we have come together as one, the church is actively working on its new vision, mission and strategy to ensure our congregation and the community at-large know who we are and how we want to be an active and vibrant part of the growing area around us.

How do you feel called to reach out to address the emerging needs of your community or constituency?
We strive to be the hands and feet of Christ by actively participating in and providing a variety of outreach and mission activities locally and internationally. Financially, we support over 20 ministries directly serving the needs of the less fortunate. Equally as important as mission work, we seek to be a welcoming place for our members and neighbors, anticipating, identifying and meeting the current and future needs of the surrounding area. Our preschool program serves many children as an educational and spiritual resource within the community. Additionally, we serve as a meeting place for community functions and groups such as Boy and Girl Scouts along with several support groups. Looking ahead, our church is wonderfully positioned to be a resource and beacon of light to schools and neighborhoods right in our midst. We seek to find new ways to reach these children and families.
