Brief Church Mission Statement:

Our mission is to make and grow disciples who give their lives to make a difference in the world guided by a vision of God’s Peace, Purpose and Promise in every heart and every home.

We are a hospitable congregation responding to the call of Jesus Christ to serve through engaged discipleship. Our church provides opportunities for all ages and abilities to grow in their spiritual life and deepen their relationship with God. Trinity’s evolving educational program focuses on both traditional classes and small group opportunities for spiritual growth beyond the Sunday School hour. As our education grows, it is important that our strong desire to increase the focus on continuing youth participation into middle and high school ages is realized. Encouraging our members to support others in our own church, our local community and the international circle is exciting for us. The church’s facilities allow us to actively use them both as a service and to reflect our mission of integrating others into our lives.

What is the congregation’s or organization’s vision for ministry? Additionally describe how this vision is lived out.

Our Guiding Principles

  • Worship - Engaging worship to deepen our love of God
  • Learn - Intentional learning to deepen our faith
  • Serve – Active service to deepen our love of neighbor
  • Fellowship – Committed relationships to deepen our community

In addition, we have identified our Core Values and Bedrock Beliefs which we further believe identify us as a church community individually and collectively. Our Bedrock Beliefs represent our answer to those seekers asking the question “What is it about a relationship with Jesus Christ that no one can afford to live without?”

Our Bedrock Beliefs are:

  • God loves us no matter what
  • God forgives every sin through Jesus Christ
  • God changes lives through prayer
  • God has a purpose for each of us
  • God gives us hope
  • God is always with us

Our twelve Core Values include personal and spiritual growth, sharing our faith, enthusiastic service, nurturing children and youth, prayer, joyful worship, generous spirit, hospitality, unconditional love, humility, integrity and compassion.

We live out our vision by incorporating these principles, beliefs and values into our daily lives.

How do you feel called to reach out to address the emerging needs of your community or constituency?

Much of the ministry at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Southlake is done through “small group” teams that take responsibility for various aspects of church life. Various teams take on specific ministry activities while the Deacons coordinate congregational and hospitality care.

Key call areas currently include:

  • Regular Growth Group meetings for discipleship growth, prayer, fellowship and service to church and community missions.
  • Worship services include both traditional and contemporary services.  Sunday School sessions allow us to address the expanding and varied needs and requests of our growing congregation.
  • Our missions continue to expand to include both local and international projects. Examples include Presbyterian Night Shelter, Community Storehouse, Habitat for Humanity, Guatemala mission trips, water wells for Africa, prayer shawl ministry, along with adult and youth growth programs.
  • Our Upward Sports Ministry is another excellent example of a major community focused mission. This program encompasses basketball and cheerleading activities in the winter and has grown to over 400 youth participants from the surrounding community.
  • Pre-school programs for children within the community
  • An expanding variety of additional programs and ministries including growth of our music and education offerings.
How will this position help you to reach your vision and mission goals?

We expect an Associate Pastor to partner with us in achieving our mission and vision. The position will help our church to achieve a vision for building disciples who make a difference in the world. As the leader of Christian Education, the candidate will be able to actively advance the adults, children and youth of our church in their growth of spiritual truths and continual learning of Christian principles. This learning will be accomplished by utilizing various study resources (books, studies, electronic media) in the avenues of Sunday School, Small Groups and other teams. In doing so, this pastoral leader will join in community engagement and support our existing mission partnerships. These activities may provide opportunity to uncover emerging needs for service. The ideal candidate will help guide the congregation to share God’s word and bring others into the knowledge of His love, hope and forgiveness.
