Brief Church Mission Statement:

“Centre is a Christ-centered, community focused, fully alive church that grows as it serves”

What is the congregation’s or organization’s vision for ministry? Additionally describe how this vision is lived out.

Centre’s congregation looks forward to beginning a new chapter in our nearly 250 year history as we plan an exciting future welcoming new ideas and fresh perspectives to keep our church active and an integral part of the lives of current and future members and our community. At the same time, we expect to continue the tradition of serving the Lord and our community through the teachings of the Word, the passing of traditional Christian values and helping those in need while providing a welcoming place for all to be part of a church family.

Centre is blessed to be fiscally sound. We are fortunate to have many leaders and volunteers who generously give their time, energy, and financial resources to support our initiatives and causes. Our congregation, diverse in age, background, and life experiences, supports one another as a family.  We welcome all who attend our church including those attending virtually. Sunday school, vacation Bible school and other activities take place throughout the year.

While open to providing either a manse or a housing allowance, our recently remodeled manse offers a new pastor the ability to live here and become involved in a vibrant community with welcoming neighbors who care for one another. Local amenities include excellent schools that we support through various causes. Our location and local demographics provide ample opportunity to maintain and develop a healthy, growing church membership and to serve our community in many ways old and new.
How do you feel called to reach out to address the emerging needs of your community or constituency?

Centre Presbyterian Church thrives in a close-knit rural community.  The church places emphasis on providing spiritual and physical support for all those in need. We strive to balance both our local and international outreach. We support our church members, people of all ages in our local community, and those around the world. Our goals moving forward include increasing local awareness of our existing programs and activities and creating new ones. Increasing our community outreach will support the mission of helping more people who are hungry and in need both physically and spiritually while attracting more local families and youth to find God and become a part of the Centre Family.

Current activities and missions we support include:

  • Sunday School programs ranging from preschool to adults
  • Children and Adult Choirs
  • Weekly Bible study and prayer meetings
  • Youth group
