Brief Church Mission Statement:
As Disciples of Christ we are committed to learning, living, sharing, and celebrating God's Word.
What is the congregation’s or organization’s vision for ministry? Additionally describe how this vision is lived out.
As a church of Jesus Christ, we will prepare, equip, and empower disciples of all ages.  This is lived out through relationships with God, within families, between congregants, and with the world abroad.  The intent of our programs and interactions is to develop and nurture these relationships with the help of the Holy Spirit.
How do you feel called to reach out to address the emerging needs of your community or constituency?
Changing social and cultural attitudes have altered what it means to be part of the Church.  The traditional model of Christian Education is no longer sufficient for making modern disciples.  We recognize the need to change.  We seek faith formation that will develop and inspire disciples of Jesus.
How will this position help you to reach your vision and mission goals?
The Director of Faith Formation (DiFF) will:
  • Foster relationships within and between generations
  • Integrate children and youth into the worship, work, and witness of the church
  • Create programs and opportunities for faith formation
  • Empower family-based faith activities
Provide a description of the characteristics needed by the person who is open to being called to this congregation and or organization.
A candidate should be an innovative and energetic leader, who loves Jesus and is willing and able to share their gifts for ministry.  This person will be a model of spiritual maturity.  They will be a skilled delegator, cooperative team member, clear communicator, and have a joyful spirit.
What specific tasks, assignments, and program areas will this person have responsibility?
The DiFF will work closely with the pastor and Ministry Teams to provide vision for faith formation, and will provide staff support to the CE Team. Initially, the DiFF will be responsible for oversight of existing CE and youth ministry programs. The hope and expectation is that, over time, the DiFF will make appropriate changes to better align our faith formation with our vision. Responsibilities include
Youth Ministry
