Our vision for ministry is to reflect the love of Jesus Christ in our church, community and world. We aspire to be a nurturing, growing church by joyfully welcoming all people to join in our ministry and to help each other grow in relationship with God. |
How do you feel called to reach out to address the emerging needs of your community or constituency?
For the younger members in our community, we provide Sunday school, youth group, children's bell choir, Vacation Bible school, summer camp scholarships, youth mission trips, opportunities to attend national youth conferences and care packages for college students. Adults in our church are active in various church organizations such as Bible studies, adult Sunday school, Seabees(Mariners), United Presbyterian Women, prayer shawl knitting group, prayer chain and other community-wide outreach organizations. Our senior population benefits from programs such as home communion, the possibility of providing recorded church services, home visits for shut-ins, and monthly services at our senior living facility. As the senior population in our community grows, we anticipate a greater need for these services in the future. |
How will this position help you to reach your vision and mission goals?
We are seeking an energetic pastor with a vision and passion for encouraging children, youth and adults to grow deeper and serve wider in their relationship with God and with each other. This person will have the opportunity to work with members to broaden congregational participation in the nurturing and care of our members. This person needs to be actively involved in church and community activities, supporting current mission projects and building awareness of new needs. |

We seek an individual who can inspire us to new heights in our mission. This individual should demonstrate strong communication skills within our congregation and community. We seek someone who has care and compassion for all people. We are looking to utilize the PCUSA's Pathway to Renewal Program. We are seeking an applicant who meets the requirements of this program,, but we are willing to consider all applicants interested in the position. |
What specific tasks, assignments, and program areas will this person have responsibility?
Provide vibrant weekly sermons including a short children's sermon during Sunday morning worship;hold weekly office hours at the church, lead specific services for Advent,Lent, Reformation Sunday and other events as needed;conduct home, hospital and nursing home visits as needed; communion, initiate and lead Bible studies throughout different times of the year;basic skills in technology; involvement in the community Ministerial Council. Also, perform other duties that may be deemed reasonable. It is important this person embrace small town ministry. |
