Brief Church Mission Statement:
The people of Community Presbyterian Church offer God's love, peace, caring and acceptance to all people.
What is the congregation’s or organization’s vision for ministry? Additionally describe how this vision is lived out.

The emerging needs of Rochester and Fulton County are many. Although we feel we are a safe, close community, we recognize that the trappings of drug abuse, poverty, and crime do snake among us. An over-crowded jail and under-educated citizens are two areas in need of ministry that are under discussion. The vision for ministry of Community Presbyterian Church is evident in our name: Community. We welcome the foreigner, the neighbor, and the homeless alike into God's House and family.  We pray for personal requests, church needs, conditions in the town of Rochester, situations in Fulton County, in Indiana, the United States, and the world. We pray for our leaders at every level. We support missions world-wide in addition to giving our time and talents to local ministries, including those of our neighboring churches. We supply farm animals, crop seeds, and agricultural tools to those who need a hand in becoming self-sustaining across the globe through annual financial donations. Our facility hosts many community activities from AA to Zumba regularly during the week. We provide space for musical and dramatic presentations in our sanctuary, which was intentionally designed to double as an auditorium for public attendance. We also host a community St. Patrick Supper with proceeds supporting local missions.

How do you feel called to reach out to address the emerging needs of your community or constituency?

We have provided "Wacky Wednesday," an after-school program for elementary school-aged youth, for several years and intend to continue its ministry. We offer 3-B, a faith-based exercise class designed for senior citizens and/or those with limited mobility. The three B's stand for Body, Brain, and Belief; meetings will exercise each of these areas. Once the program passes its trial run with congregation members, it will be opened to the public. We have offered Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University courses, and hope to add even more success stories to our list of course graduates in the future.

How will this position help you to reach your vision and mission goals?

It is our hope that the person who feels called to Community Presbyterian Church will have talents to help us identify needs, recognize the callings placed before us, and set attainable goals.
