The WCP responds to God's call by addressing the needs of the veterans, the needy, the homeless and the aged.
How will this position help you to reach your vision and mission goals?
WCP needs a pastor who is mission and vision driven and can engage the congregation. The pastor needs to be able to:
- see ahead clearly, staying focused on the larger picture
- anticipate future consequences and trends accurately
- be future oriented
- identify and stay informed of church and/or organizational polity
- remain current with laws, regulations, policies, procedures and trends
- be willing to take risks to accomplish needed goals
- think outside the box
- challenge the status-quo

WPC needs a pastor who:
- shows strong personal depth and spiritual maturity
- is seen by others a trustworthy and authentic
- nurtures a rich spiritual life

- is motivated by caring for others while concurrently keeping the organizational goals clearly in focus
- is a consistent, effective preacher and worship leader
- can inspire from the pulpit
- communicates a clear and consistent message through sermons that are carefully prepared and artfully delivered.
- shall be committed to teaching the faith and equipping the saints for the work of ministry
-shall serve in a variety of ministries, as authorized by the Presbytery: Executive Presbyter, Synod, General Assembly and Ecumenical
What specific tasks, assignments, and program areas will this person have responsibility?
WPC pastor will be responsible for:
- moderating the Session council
- visiting the sick and shut-ins
- preaching and teaching the faith of the church
- Participating in judicatories of the church ... Presbytery, Synod, General Assembly
- Interpreting the mysteries of grace and lift the people's vision toward the hope of God's new creation
- They shall support the people in the discipline of the faith
- They shall participate in the responsibilities of governance, seeking always to discern the mind of Christ and build up Christ's body through devotion, debate and decision relationship
